Department Photography
These are general photos I've taken for my department over the years.

    Images from around my department
  • Throughout the years in my department, I've pointed my camera at people, laboratories, buildings, plants, animals, rocks, tiny materials samples, equipment, molten glass, melted metal....
  • The Millennium Science Complex is big and it's stuffed within yards of three other buildings, making it really difficult to get a shot that encapsulates the entire building. So I called a contact in an adjacent building, who allowed me access to a 4th-floor conference room, lifting me to an elevation about 45 feet above the ground. I took two photos - one from the left side of the room and one from the right side of the room.
  • The rest was done in Photoshop CS5, which has a photo merge automation that is far superior to previous versions (in my opinion!). Photoshop stitched the images together, and the rest is a composite of adjustment layers and layer masks. The photo was taken for inclusion in our winter newsletter.
