Multimedia Specialist
Direct the department to high quality digital and print media production for recruiting, marketing, and instruction through the hands-on production of graphic design, video, illustration, photography, interactive media, and implementation of new creative technologies
Create graphic design for print media in the form of posters, postcards, brochures, newsletters, booklets, stationery, museum displays, package design, corporate identity and branding development, and logo and icon design
Produce and maintain a broad range of digital media including video management and production, photography, photo editing and photo restoration, Flash animation and animated banner ads, sound editing for video production, and interactive multimedia
Oversee all aspects of video production including pre-production scheduling and planning; field location evaluation; equipment transportation, set-up, and maintenance; conducting interviews; shooting, reviewing, and editing a-roll and b-roll footage; making editorial decisions; color correcting video; creating graphics for special effects; editing audio; submitting video to marketing and department offices for review and approval; and distributing in a variety of formats
Photograph faculty, staff, and students and document lectures and events; employ photographs to enhance the professional presentation of the department in a wide range of applications such as recruiting, newsletters, journal covers, postcards, white papers, websites, video, research news features, interactive modules, and technical instruction
Illustrate original images to translate abstract scientific concepts, ideas, and tangible objects; translate concepts from planning to visualization to implementation; employ illustration to increase quality of on-line and classroom instruction, textbook and journal applications, conceptualization of new technologies, museum displays, and department marketing and recruiting
Implement creative direction and management of outsourced print and multimedia projects, write content for various media types, artistic advisement to staff and faculty in the visual and conceptual direction of various creative projects, and staff training and development
