One day recently I was walking to my parking lot at work, and a dead leaf caught my eye. Of the millions on the ground, that one leaf had some spunk. After collecting more and more over the next couple weeks, it hit me one day on the drive home what I could do with them - a series of still life photos with a 180 year-old book.Digital Photography, Photography, Visual Arts2011 -
Sometimes I get bored with trying to make things perfect. It gets tedious rendering a drawing that's so tight, or taking a photograph that has the perfect exposure, white-balance, and focus. Recently while driving up the highway to a friend's house, I put my Nikon D200 on a sticky pad on the dashboard of my truck, and just hit the button! What I got was very exciting for me because it was a visit to a more creative place. As a professional creative, I find these departures necessary to the practice of remaining excited about creativity and meshing that excitement into my design, photography, and video.Digital Art, Digital Photography, Photography2011 -
I began shooting photos of those around me in the Spring of 2010. Photographing people wasn't something I was ever that comfortable with until I began to do it more and more at my job at Penn State. The photos in this project are a mix of photos from a photography class, work, and now a hobby.Digital Photography, Photography2011 -
When it comes to personal hobbies, black & white photography is one of my most long-standing interests...right under motorcycles. I've never had a real preference of subject, suffice to say I go crazy when I find something visually interesting - story or no story. If a viewer can get even a slight pleasure out of one of my photos, then to me, it's a success.Digital Photography, Graphic Design, Photography2011
